Every newbie in any field of knowledge takes time to be a professional but the time doesn't stand by for a very long time.
If you are a fresher in engineering college (IT/CSE field), then there is definitely no ever holding time and opportunity for you. In the very first year of your college life, everyone has a notion about joining in with fun and leisure for enjoyment but it wouldn't work out that way. You should start indulging yourself in more constructive things that will help you in near future. Investing zest and enthusiasm in the right path for the very beginning is important. Otherwise, after one or two years you would realize how did your mates invested their time and reaped a good knowledge out of that.

If you are in second, third or fourth year, don’t worry, it’s not too late to start over as time management can make things fall in place. From my experience, I would advise you to get more of industrial knowledge rather than cramming the lessons of your curriculum.

• Get yourself started with having an account on LinkedIn where your will get to know the professional’s profiles of people.
• Get yourself surrounded with knowledgeable people and enroll yourself in any coding society in your college where you can get useful insights.
• Always find time to do productive things like if you are in CS/IT field do coding questions whenever you get time. This will definitely help you in cracking various competitions and interviews. You can find various sites Hackerrank, Hackerearth, CodeChef and many more to increase your coding skills.
• Build your resume, even if you don’t have anything to write in first, and update it whenever you do something. To be a part of good projects and internship programs, take the help of various apps and websites like LinkedIn, internshala, lets intern to start with.
• Last but not the least, be confident whether you are in last year or first year of your degree. You have a lot of time to do productive things.
